ERP Predictions – 2010

There are several ERP predictions for 2010, most are calling for SaaS and cloud deployments. A few predictions are included below.

Nucleus Research lists “cloud adoption” as number 1.

Enterprise Irregulars lists cloud growth and innovation as number 1.

CIO Magazine lists “cloud computing” when discussing the new role of CIOs.

ZDNet, Paul Greenburg lists “cloud and SaaS” as #2 after social networking.

Dr. Dobb’s, Roger Burkhardt says last year’s prediction that “SaaS and cloud-based computing solutions will grow” gets a grade A, and keeps it as his #3 prediction this year.

IDC, Kathleen Lau lists 2010 as the year of the private cloud.

Ulitzer, Eric Kimberling lists SaaS SMB adoption as number 3 of his 10 predictions for 2010.

Gartner’s top 10 strategic technologies for 2010 lists cloud computing as number 1.

ERP Prediction Summary

ERP customers and vendors will use the cloud to innovate and drive higher return on investment. This includes both internal and external cloud implementations. As the comfort level with cloud ERP increases, specific applications will be replaced with complete systems.
